Bethlehem Shepherds, Video
November 18th, 2011 | 4 Comments
This week's Yeshua in Context Video is timely, as many are starting to think about the birth narratives of Yeshua in Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1-2 at this time of year. For the next few weeks, I will explore facets of the birth narratives. Next week: Bethlehem's Star.
Who were the shepherds of Bethlehem? Why do they figure so prominently in Luke's birth narrative? What do we learn about Yeshua and his context?

It is so wonderful to hear someome speak that makes sense! All the festivals are training for us to understand. THANKYOU
I wasn't aware of the additional detail that these shepherds were raising lambs for Passover. Marvelous!
This was very good and interesting. The only thing is that the sound kind of fades out after a few minutes but then comes back load and clear a few minutes later, but I suppose these thing will sort themselves out after more practice. Thanks for your teaching.
Yeah, we recorded with my iPhone on my front porch and it was windy! Inside the house, my cockatiel decided to start making music right before we recorded it. Otherwise, I'd have recorded it in my home library-office where I do most of my work. I'd like to get a camera with a mic-in plug and have much better sound. Recently I experienced a downturn in income (haven't a lot of people), so I'm biding my time on the camera thing.
